You are Godâs buildingâŠSurely you know that you are God’s temple
and that God’s Spirit lives in you!
 1 Corinthians 3:9, 16 GNT
The master craftsman works, painstakingly fitting the pieces together. Having carefully chosen his tools, he wields them with skillful hands. His progress is sometimes obvious, but, more often, frustratingly slow.
God is building His church, reshaping our lives into what He originally intended. He designed us to experience perfect love and security. But life in this fallen world has taught us that it isnât safe to trust. Or, as my friend Missy would say, âour âtrustersâ got broken.â Our trusters need to be rebuilt and the tools God often uses are the things that we hold dearâour children, our health, or our homes.
In Missyâs case, the tediously long process of selling her house was Godâs tool of choice. She and her husband Mike have prayed and waited to see God move for two long years. Read her account of what happened and how her truster grew stronger in the process:
About 2 years ago I put my house up for sale. We prayed about it and faithfully put it on the market. We had lots of viewers but we also had lots of rejection (lots and lots). You know me–I don’t take rejection very well–and was quite upset when we took the For Sale sign down. I didn’t understand why God wanted me to stay here and allow Tristan to drive so far away to school (that was one of our reasons for selling).
Mike and I had been planning to put it on the market again in the near future. One day in October, a realtor knocked on our door out of the blue and asked if he could sell our house. Â Well, I told Mike I felt like this was God and he agreed. Â Long story short, we met with the realtor at the end of November and listed our house in the most hectic time of year.
I just wanted you to know the spirit of peace that has been upon me and Mike has been amazing. Â God had plans for me and my truster!!!!! He wanted to show me that His timing is perfect and that His plans are better and that He can be trusted with ALL of the details. Â Â He was in a mood to “show off”! Â God brought 2 buyers. Not 1 but 2. Â And if that wasn’t enough, they got in a bidding battle over my home. AND not only did that happen but the details of it all are simply a miracle in itself. The couple that is buying our home is paying cash for more than the asking price, not using an appraisal, paying the closing, buying their own warranty, and accepting the house as is. Now that is showing off!
I know that I have already had a breakthrough. But I am not finished. Â Mike and I have decided to build a house in Ross Bridge and we are at peace for the first time ever about where we are going to live and how much the house is going to cost and where our kids are going to school. Â WOW. Â I want more of that peace.
Needless to say, it has been a busy but blessed Holiday around the Widra home and I just wanted to share my breakthrough.
Blessed beyond my belief,
Missy
Missy Widra was a young mom, her son just a toddler, when she first came to Divine Design. Her biggest struggle was trusting God. Her son Tristan is now a high school junior. It has been such a joy to watch Tristan and his mom grow! Time and time again over the years Missy has chosen to trust God, even when circumstances would tell her otherwise. Iâm thrilled to tell you that she and her family moved just last weekend. There is no doubt that God is trustworthy and He is on the move!
Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you.

That’s a sweet story about the Lord’s taking care of business.
